SECURITY MEASURES

The security measures apply to all participants, employees and volunteers that have to access to Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, on Ile Notre-Dame of the Parc Jean-Drapeau.
 
To avoid any inconvenience, we invite you to take prior notice of the following information:

 

1. ALL ATTENDEES MAY BE SYBJECTED TO ADDITONAL SEARCH AND VERIFICATION.

It is strongly recommended to arrive early in order to be granted access to the site rapidly.
 

2.CONTROL MEASURES AT THE ENTRANCE OF THE SITE

Spectators arriving at the booth with the following items must submit these articles for examination. To accelerate the process, signs will indicate where to go.
A cooler with authorized dimension (see article 5);
A backpack with authorized dimension (see article 5);
A photographer/travel bag or a metallic case for photographic equipment

At all times, the organization reserves the right to require a spectator to be submitted to additional verification by a security agent.

 

3. COOLERS, OVERSIZED BAGS OR OTHER CONSIGNED OBJECTS

During the verification held at the entrance, the bags that may deemed too large (see article 5), coolers with nonconforming dimensions (see article 5) or other prohibited objects will be consigned.  
The concerned owner will have to head towards the area indicated by the operator. The objects can be recuperated at that location as the owner leaves the site.
 

4. ACCESS AND VEHICLE CONTROL

All vehicles granted access the site or tag holders indicating the number of their parking lot could, by the request of an official, be required to show their bags content or coolers they intend to bring on-site or the content of their storage compartments of their vehicle when parking. 

All passengers must have the rightful credentials in hands.
 

5. AUTHORIZED BAG DIMENSIONS AND COOLERS

Coolers or backpacks are required to be stowed under the owner’s seat when taking place in the stands.
 
Coolers and/or backpacks and/or travel bags when filled to capacity: 
Height: 22,8 cm (9 po).
Length: 45,7 cm (18 po).
Depth : 25,4 cm (10 po).
                                                                                                                                                        

6. AUTHORIZED OBJECTS ON-SITE

  • Cameras, lenses and metal carrying cases for photographic equipment.
  • Portable radios, electronic devices of iPod type and mobile phones.
  • Food and beverages for personal consumption only.  
  • Folding chairs (general admission only.
  • National flags.
  • Strollers.
  • Walkers and wheelchairs.

 7. PROHIBITED OBJECTS ON-SITE

  • Suitcases of any size.
  • Skateboard.
  • Firearms.
  • Knives.
  • Taser.
  • Tripods and monopods.
  • Selfie sticks.
  • Drones.
  • Laser pointers.
  • Ladders and stepladders.
  • Barbecue stoves.
  • Umbrellas and other objects that obstruct the view of the audience and/or harm their safety.
  • Electrical appliances requiring connection and generators.
  • Animals, except guide dogs and assistance dogs.
  • Any other item deemed dangerous at the discretion of the organization.

 8. BEHAVIOR IN THE STANDS AND IN GENERAL ADMISSION

To ensure all spectators an enjoyable experience during the event, the organization requests that certain rules must be respected as in the stands than in the general admission:
It is possible to wave a national flag to support a driver and get up to take a picture, all, without disturbing the view of other spectators.
It is prohibited to sit and/or obstruct the stairs in the stand. 

9. TOBACCO CONTROL

In accordance with the law that came into force on May 26 20I6, it is forbidden to smoke in the stands, terraces and other enclosed areas, all tobacco products and electronic cigarettes.
