The Grand Evening, with Honorary President Tony Loffreda

Benefiting the Giant Steps Foundation and Véro & Louis Foundation

Montréal, April 5, 2018 — The Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada is pleased to announce the 9th edition of its inaugural gala The Grand Evening, on Thursday June 7. The event, which will be held under the honorary presidency of Mr. Tony Loffreda, CPA, Vice-Chairman of RBC – Estate Management, is dedicated to raising funds for a cause that affects many Canadian families: the plight of children with autism spectrum disorders.

The evening’s proceeds will be given to Giant Steps Foundation and Véro & Louis Foundation, the former caring for school-aged children, the latter taking over when these same children reach adulthood.

This year, as the most popular sporting event in the country celebrates four decades in Montréal, this exceptional evening presented by Mercedes-Benz, which has become a summer must, will once again bring together Montreal’s community and members of the Formula 1 family.

‘’ This year, we are very pleased to associate The Grand Evening to the Giant Steps Foundation and Véro & Louis Foundation. Both foundations deserve the support of the Montreal community and our weekend visitors. It’s an evening for which our friends in Formula One are happy to join us ‘’, said the President and CEO of the Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada, François Dumontier.

‘’ I gladly accepted to serve as honorary president of the 2018 gala dinner The Grand Evening for three reasons ‘’, declared Tony Loffreda. ‘’First, the cause of autism is close to my heart and that is why I am committed to the Giant Steps Foundation. In addition, I am a proud Montrealer and when my community can show solidarity during a global event, I am in. Finally, I am pleased to support the initiative of the Canadian Grand Prix’s promoter who, since 2010, has been presenting such a charity evening every year as part of the Formula 1 weekend. ‘’

‘’We are pleased that the Grand Prix organizers have chosen to support autism as one of their yearly causes. The Véro & Louis Foundation wishes to build houses for autistic adults who need constant care and it is, in part, thanks to events like The Grand Evening that we can make this happen’’ Véronique Cloutier and Louis Morissette founders of the Véro & Louis Foundation.

On June 7, at the Quai Alexandra marine terminal, The Grand Evening will welcome participants for cocktails starting at 7 p.m., and dinner will be served at 8 p.m. To attend, it is possible to purchase a table welcoming ten guests for $10,000. Individual tickets are also available for $1,000. To order, please contact Julie Lalonde by calling 514-350-4731 x 305.
